A US television network has apologised after a pop star showed her middle finger during the Super Bowl halftime show.

She said she had to put on ‘the greatest show on earth, during the greatest show on earth’ and Madonna certainly didn’t disappoint.

The singer put on an impressive show during the halftime show of the NFL Super Bowl XLVI football game between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots.


Meh. Not loving this one. The clip, which features guest appearances from Nicki Minaj and M.I.A., runs with a sports theme echoing the pop icon’s appearance on the Super Bowl this weekend, with the guest rappers done up as cheerleaders chanting about their love for the Material Girl.

It’s a goofy and fun clip, though the faceless cheerleaders in the background are more creepy than amusing.

Not many people are aware of this, but did you know that Super Bowl XLV was actually a crime scene?
