I’m a pretty big fan of Jack Kirby, the legendary artist who co-created Captain America, Thor, the Avengers, etc.
That’s why I was so surprised to find out about Kirby’s connection to a CIA operation to extract six diplomats from Iran during the famous hostage crisis of 1979

Ebrahim Hamidi, who is not gay, was sentenced to death for lavat, or sodomy, on the basis of “judge’s knowledge”, a legal loophole that allows for subjective judicial rulings where there is no conclusive evidence.

A 42-year-old Afghan woman convicted of adultery in 2006 is set to be stoned to death shortly, according to human rights activists.
According to her lawyer, Sakineh was forced to confess after being subjected to 99 lashes.

Iran stepped up its nuclear defiance Wednesday by endorsing plans to boost its uranium enrichment. Ahmadinejad wants to punish world powers for imposing sanctions and added Iran will not make “one iota of concessions.” “You showed bad temper, reneged on your promise and again resorted to devilish manners,” he said of the powers that imposed.

Including Iran in President Bushs Axis of Evil during the 2002 SOU didnt end a U.S.-Iranian diplomatic, but it did provoke the Iranians to release one of the most notorious guerrillas of Afghanistans decades of war from Iranian house arrest: Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, an ally of al-Qaeda who went on to kill our troops in Afghanistan.
