This weekend’s Red River Rivalry means crunch time for the no. 21 Texas Longhorns.
Texas put out a strong defense, but was dealt a blow to its normally intimidating swagger after getting pounded by UCLA’s run game. The Longhorns’ offense is the root of the problem, and finding the bread-and-butter of a relatively young offense has ultimately crippled the high expectations of fans and coaches.

The No. 11 Wisconsin Badgers (3-0) will wrap up their 2010 non-conference football schedule Saturday with a home game against Austin Peay (2-1).
Wisconsin saw a very efficient and productive spread offense in their week-three matchup with Arizona State. While Arizona State’s spread has the traditional emphasis on the pass, they mixed in a lot of run, burning the Badgers for 169 yards on 28 attempts (6.0 yards per carry). The Badgers also gave up a 100-yard rushing game to San Jose State’s Deantre Lewis – something Wisconsin hadn’t allowed in 13 games – and nearly earning an upset win in the process. It will be interesting to see if Wisconsin struggles again with a spread-offense running attack.

In rather bizarre news from the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Europe festivities in London, the final pairing of the £10,000 No Limit Hold’em High Roller Heads-Up tournament has been suspended after play wrapped up early this morning at 3:00am ET. In the best-of-three finale, Jim Mr_BigQueso Collopy and Full Tilt Poker pro Gus Hansen are even at one match apiece. When the rubber match will occur is not yet known.
Normally, Hansen and Collopy would have simply come back to the Casino at the Empire to determine a bracelet winner today. However, both are playing in Day 1B of the WSOP Europe Main Event. In addition, coverage found on WSOP.com revealed that a British law may have stunted the tournament from concluding overnight: We understand that there’s actually some sort of legal issue with them starting a heads-up match after 3:00am; but either way, we commend the WSOPE for making this excellent decision and sparing us the shame of still being here around lunchtime tomorrow.

Daniel Daley, an 84-year-old WWII veteran, is in critical condition at a hospital in Orlando after a police officer picked him up and slammed him down on his head, breaking his neck.
His crime? He put his hands on the officer’s shoulders while calmly talking to him.

Think back. Way Back. Think back to a time when the car of tomorrow was just an idea. Back to a time when Winston was still NASCAR’s primary sponsor. Think way back to a time when Kyle Busch had never won a race in any of NASCAR’s top three divisions, and Jimmie Johnson was a zero time NASCAR Champion. I am talking about all the way back in 2003.
The biggest problem facing NASCAR is that regardless of what happens, someone will always think something is wrong with the system. Some people think that it’s unfair that Kevin Harvick lost his 236 point lead when the playoffs started. Others think it would be wrong for someone to win the championship while not winning a race. And others still, have a problem that Jamie McMurray, the winner of this seasons two biggest races, the Daytona 500 and Brickyard 400, is not eligible to run for the ultimate prize.

This was the best week the ACC has experienced since week one. It’s also the first time all season that I have had the same team ranked number one for consecutive weeks.
Next week has a few more non-conference games but also will be featuring some quality games within the conference. There may even be an upset in the making when Florida State takes to the road to face Virginia.

In a decision rendered by the Kentucky Supreme Court on Thursday, the case involving the seizure and potential forfeiture of 141 internet gambling domain names will return to the trial court and Judge Thomas Wingate.
The decision read in part, Because the trial court has not had the opportunity to address Petitioner’s claims, both as to standing and jurisdiction, they cannot establish standing to pursue the writ they seek.Brennan added that with the process essentially returning to the beginning, Kentucky’s stance towards internet gambling will continue to be exposed: This is uncomfortable for the Commonwealth because there’s going to be another public airing of the flimsy pretext they used to seize the domain names from the beginning. They’re going to trot out these arguments that have so far not held water with any of the courts except Wingate’s. Kentucky officials permit online wagering on horse racing, the lifeblood of the Commonwealth’s economy. The state also has an online component of its lottery.
