The study by the USC Annenberg School for Communications and Journalism found that just 56% Internet users ranked newspapers as important or very important sources of information for them, down from 60% in 2008 — and below the Internet (78%) and television (68%).

Programmers want a bigger piece of the pie.
In high-speed frequency trading millions of trades are made in fractions of a second with no direct human intervention. It is reasonable to ask whether anybody should be making a “ton of money.” Half of U.S. equity stock trades may currently be accounted for this, but to what economically useful end?

Citizen monitoring of the police is crucial in a democracy.
We shouldnt rule out the possibility of videotape getting accidentally erased, or lost in office clutter. Citizens video tape police during demonstrations as a form of protection.
Its important to stress that citizen journalism is also good for the police.
