It’s now looking like a lot of prominent Republicans, ranging from party leaders to big-name pundits that we usually expect to make outrageous partisan attacks, are doing something they’d been previously neglecting: Definitively cracking down on the Birthers, rather than playing to the conspiracy theorists allowing this stuff to continue festering.

Neil Abercrombie (D-HI) that commemorates Hawaiis 50th anniversary as a U.S. state by a vote of 378-0. The resolution also contains this provision: Whereas the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, was born in Hawaii,

The calls to audit the Federal Reserve have come fast and furious in the last few weeks.
Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke is continuing to push back against a House bill that would give the Comptroller General the power to audit the central bank.

Fearmongers, sponsored by the insurance industry, are telling bold face lies and doing whatever it takes to make sure real reform doesn’t pass. Instead of honestly debating the issue, they’re going to make old folks believe that the Government is going to come to their house, take them out back, and put them out of their misery.

On July 28, 2009, Rep.
Virginia Foxx (R-NC) stated on the floor of the House that the Republicans’ health care reform legislation, unlike that of the Democrats, would not put seniors “to death.” Besides being a reprehensible accusation, her words are blatantly false.
